Frequently asked questions
How do I convert PDF pages to images?
Select or drop a PDF document into the upload area. Choose the pages you want to export using the page range field or thumbnail cards. Select your desired image format (JPG or PNG) and resolution (72, 150, or 300 DPI), then click 'Export selected pages'. You can download pages individually or all together as a ZIP archive.
Should I choose JPG or PNG?
Choose JPG for photographed or scanned documents where smaller file size is important. Choose PNG for documents containing fine vector line art, diagrams, or crisp digital text where lossless fidelity is preferred.
How do DPI resolution settings affect the output?
DPI controls the pixel dimensions of the exported image. 72 DPI outputs standard screen dimensions, 150 DPI provides balanced readability for application uploads, and 300 DPI yields high-resolution output suitable for printing. Note that increasing DPI rasterizes vector content at higher pixel densities, but cannot restore clarity to low-resolution scanned pages.
How do page selection and custom ranges work?
You can click 'All pages' to select up to 40 pages, click individual thumbnail checkboxes, or enter custom ranges such as '1-3, 5, 8'. Overlapping ranges are automatically deduplicated and processed in ascending document order.
Are exported images searchable or selectable like PDF text?
No. Exporting a PDF to JPG or PNG converts the page into a raster bitmap image. Text in the exported image is rendered as pixels and is no longer selectable, searchable, or copyable.
Are password-protected PDFs supported?
No. In this milestone, password-protected and encrypted PDF documents are not supported. Please remove the password protection before exporting pages.
Are my PDF files uploaded to any server or cloud service?
No. Every step — parsing, rendering, and the ZIP download — happens inside this browser tab. Your files are never sent to any server.
